Disrupting Borders & Binaries: The Global Impacts of Covid-19 on Women of Color
Apart of the Rising Majority’s Teach-in Series
In the midst of this pandemic we remain charged to fulfill the mandate of liberation for all of our communities through an anti-racist, anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, and gender justice lens. Our first national teach in focused on racial capitalism. For our second national teach in, we will be in conversation about the gendered impact of COVID-19. Womxn of color are shouldering the brunt of the current crises. The exacerbated and strained circumstances continue to shed light on the material conditions and interlocking oppressions faced by women of color across the national and international landscapes.
Join us May 7, 2020 at 4pmPST/6pmCST/7pmEST to learn more about some of the gendered impacts of COVID-19 on womxn of color around the world, and gendered justice responses to the crises that goes beyond relief towards sustainedd cultivation of innovative, works making frameworks for thriving.
We will be joined by Gail Lewis of the Organisation for Women of African and Asian Descent, M. Adams of Freedom Inc, Thenmozhi Soundarararajan of Equality Labs, and Rose Berry of Black LGBTQIA+ Migrant Project, and writer and activist Raquel Willis.
